I finished my last day of work before the race and am now going to be off work for a whole week! Now the only thing I have to stress about is the 42.2km I have to run on Sunday lol!

Power nails! Teal, to go with my yellow team singlet and gold, as in a gold medal because I am going to win! (And by winning I of course mean finishing).

After picking up the last few little items I needed for my trip and completing my last real run before the race, I treated myself to a manicure, done by my friend Amanda. I told her I needed ‘power nails’ to help me through the marathon. She really pulled through because I already feel faster 🙂 Sometimes having a rockin’ pair of nails is just the kind of confidence boost you need.

I’ve been obsessively checking the weather over the last few days and it looks like it’s going to rain off and on for the duration of our trip so packing has become pretty tricky. I thought I had my race outfit all picked out but rain sort of messes up my plans. The new plan has become to pack everything and choose what I am wearing when I get there. It’s hard to know how a temperature will “feel” until you are there. Completely overpacking is typically how I start most of my trips anyway.

Today I checked back in with the Victoria Marathon website for any updated details. I found out that the fuel along the route is going to be Honey Stinger gels and chews which is awesome because that is what I have been training with! However, I still plan on brining my own fuel and carrying it with me, just in case they run out at the aid stations. It’s just nice to know that if for some reason I need more fuel that I am going to be familiar with what they have on the course.

Tomorrow all I have left to do is to finish packing and possibly make some banana muffins for the trip mmmmm. For now, time to get a good night’s sleep!
