When I run I have a lot of thoughts. Most are inane, some are funny and the rest are just simply to get me around the next corner.
Here are a few of them:
“I’ve only run how far?”
“I hate this (insert irritable item of clothing here) why do I keep wearing it?”
“I should have gone pee before I left.”
“I am wearing way too many layers.”
“I am not wearing enough layers.”
“That’s a new pain.”
“Are those rain clouds?”
“What should I eat after this?”
“Why am I doing this again?”
“Maybe I’ll just walk for a minute.”
“When I am done my marathon I am going to eat fries until I puke.”
“Why is everyone else so much faster than me?”
“I wonder if the people driving by think I am a crazy person. I would.”
“Oh look at you, sitting on your patio, relaxing, having coffee, MUST BE NICE!”
“Halfway done! That means I only have to run another 40 minutes, twice, then I’ll be done.”
“What am I being punished for?”
“I could still be in bed.”
“Most of my friends probably ARE still in bed.”
“I am so lost.”
“If only the sun would just come out for a minute.”
“If only the sun would just go away for a minute.”
“This better be worth it.”
I think it will be…
